Homeless Boy Raped, Beaten & Robbed – Then Ed Sheeran Takes Matters Into His Own Hands

Liberia is a country of terror and suffering. In our articles, we try to be as honest as possible, and we will be once again. Liberia, the home of the cannibal warlords, poverty and an unseen plague of diseases and aids, has a heartwarming story to represent in front of the world.

The famous musician, Ed Sheeran, did something amazing. He went do Liberia and met a boy named JD who lived in a canoe on the beach in total poverty. The little boy revealed how he was raped together with his friends. They were raped by older boys and they were beaten too.

The suffering of these young children is permanent. They are supposed to live on bread and water only, to fight for survival every single day.

Little boy’s ambition to become the president of the country moved the pop star as he knew well how hard it would be to reach his aim in this way. He took money from his own pocket to set these kids in Liberia’s capital, Monrovia. He also found a woman to look after them whom they called as Ma.

JD says that “I used to sleep in canoes on the beach with my friends. Now I feel much better because I stay with Ma and she takes care of us. She always comes looking for us to make sure we are ok. She really cares about me. I didn’t have that before. I am very happy to be going to school soon. I want to be president, so I have to learn and study well. When I am president, I can help all the other street children with food, shelter and school. I want to see all children in school uniforms. If I had not met Ed, I would still be sleeping in canoes o the beach.”

In the video Ed says “My natural instinct is to just put them in a car and just take them and put them in a hotel until we can get them sorted.
